2023: Bello consults Zazzau emir, Ango Abdullahi over presidential ambition

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Sunday visited Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamali, in Zaria, and the Chairman of Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Prof. Ango Abdullahi.

Bello said he went back to where he was raised, groomed, and schooled to consult them on his ambition to become the President of Nigeria come 2023, describing his journey to Zaria as a homecoming.

While speaking with journalists in Zaria, Kaduna State, the governor insisted that Nigerians were calling on him to contest the presidency in 2023.

“They raised me, educated me, tutored me, nurtured me before unleashing me to serve in Kogi State. I am here to pay homage. We are on consultation, Nigerians are calling on me to serve. So, I have to consult my father who is versed in history,” he said.

He described his interaction as well thought out as it afforded the opportunity for him to discuss with his host as father and child, saying he was passionate about uniting the nation.

According to him, he was a next-door neighbor to the Emir when he was in Zaria, saying that he was unavoidably absent during the Emir’s coronation, noting that one year after he was enthroned, he had to visit him.
