AFCON 2021: What Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa told President Buhari during video call
Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, on Sunday, promised President Muhammadu Buhari that he and his teammates would make Nigeria proud when they tackle Tunisia in tonight’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, Round of 16 fixture in Cameroon.
Musa also thanked Buhari for creating time from his busy schedule to give his blessing to Augustine Eguavoen’s men as they face Tunisia in the AFCON last-16 on Sunday night.
Speaking via video conference from Cameroon, the former Leicester City forward spoke to the President.
DAILY POST reports that others present during the video conference include Super Eagles coach, Augustine Eguavoen, President of Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare, and among others.
“Sir, we really appreciate your time that you give to us. It is not that easy to speak with the President of the federal republic of Nigeria,” Musa said.
“Sir, I don’t have much to say other than to promise you that we are going out today to make Nigeria proud.
“It is not that easy to have the blessing of the father of the nation, it is not that easy. We really appreciate your time.
Musa added, “Honorable minister [Sunday Dare], we really appreciate your work, our presido [Amaju Pinnick] we really thank you, we are hoping to see you later, so that alter to celebrate with us after the game.”
