Afuye remains ADP Deputy governorship candidate in Ekiti – Erelu Elebute-Halle
The Governorship Candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, Erelu Kemi Elebute-Halle has described the defection of her Deputy Comrade Idowu Afuye to the All Progressives Congress as another political joke which should not be taken seriously.
Afuye had defected to the APC on Thursday with his supporters whom he said exceeded 20,000.
Addressing a news conference in Ado Ekiti, Erelu Elebute-Halle insisted that Afuye remains the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the party according to the electoral act.
She alleged that though Afuye had not briefed her about his exit, she read about it in the media but was never touched by the act because she was already prepared for all drama and intrigues of politics.
According to her, she knew long ago that Afuye was not a sincere personality owing to his actions and the comments people made about him but said she was only managing him.
The ADP flagbearer denied the allegation that she was also working for another party, saying she was in the game to win.
She noted that she had invested more time and taken risks beyond stepping down for anyone just as she vowed to also take many supporters of APC in revenge.
