Champions League: Galtier criticizes PSG stars after win over Maccabi Haifa
Paris Saint-Germain boss, Christophe Galtier, has criticized his players following his side’s UEFA Champions League 3-1 win over Maccabi Haifa on Wednesday.
Galtier said that PSG players were badly organized and cut in half during the encounter against Maccabi Haifa in Israel.
PSG put up an uninspired display in the opening phase and were made to pay, as Maccabi scored in the 24th minute.
Lionel Messi, however, levelled proceedings in the 37th minute before Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappe struck in the second half to give PSG all three points.
“No, we had two or three big situations in the first half,” Galtier said at his post-match press conference. “They got it too, yes. There was a big atmosphere, the public pushed very hard. We were just badly organized, cut in half.”
He added, “It gave a lot of opportunities for the opponent to quickly put us in a defensive position. This gave us a very difficult first period despite the three face-to-face that we obtained without being able to capitalize.”
PSG’s next game is against Lyon in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.
