EPL: Brendan Rodgers takes decision on selling Wesley Fofana to Chelsea
Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers has ruled out any possibility of selling defender, Wesley Fofana, amid interest from Chelsea.
Chelsea has been linked with a move to sign Fofana this summer despite the addition of Kalidou Koulibaly to their squad earlier last month.
Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel attempted to lure Matthijs de Ligt to Stamford Bridge, but the Dutch star opted to join Bayern Munich instead.
Also, Tuchel missed out to sign Jules Kounde, who eventually joined Barcelona from Sevilla.
Chelsea have now gone back to the drawing board and are preparing moves for Fofana and RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol.
Asked about the speculation surrounding Fofana, Rodgers said the 21-year-old centre-back is not for sale.
“Naturally, he’s a top talent,” Rodgers was quoted by Metro UK as saying.
“He’s not for sale. He still has lots of improvements to make. He’s very happy here, he really enjoys being here.
“Naturally, he will attract the interest of other clubs. Our job, in not signing anyone so far, is to at least keep the players we have. I know that’s the intention of the club.”
