EPL: First January signing in Premier League confirmed
Everton have become the Premier League club to complete a transfer this January with Ukraine international, Vitaliy Mykolenko all but ready to start his career at Merseyside.
“Moving to Everton is a big and important step in my life. I have always dreamed of playing in the Premier League. English football is where the game was born and I think that it will suit my game very well,” the new signing told the club’s website.
Everton signedl Mykolenko from Dynamo Kiev on a four-and-a-half-year contract and the 22-year-old has played 21 caps for his country.
The Ukrainian left-back will fill the non-injury related absence of Lucas Digne.
“English football is where the game was born and I think that it will suit my game very well,” he added.
He becomes the sixth signing of Rafa Benitez since he became Everton boss.
Everton were quick out of the blocks in this transfer window, but the Ukrainian will not, however play against Brighton this weekend according to Sky Sports News’ Alan Myers, who confirmed that the player is not eligible to feature for his new club when they play on Sunday.
