EPL: Graeme Souness names three players who let Liverpool down during 2-2 draw with Chelsea

Former Newcastle United manager, Graeme Souness has named three Liverpool players who were bullied by Chelsea during their 2-2 draw in the Premier League on Sunday.

Chelsea came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Jurgen Klopp’s side at Stamford Bridge, with Mateo Kovacic and Christian Pulisic equalizing for the Blues after Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah’s early strikes.

Siuness, a Liverpool legend, felt it was the Reds’ midfielders, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and James Milner that let them down.

“Chelsea bossed midfield today,” he said on Sky Sports.

“Liverpool this year, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and James Milner were not at the races today.

“They were bossed and bullied by Chelsea’s midfield.

“The possession stats tell you that, 130 more passes tells you that and it wasn’t the Liverpool we’ve seen the last three or four years where they bully teams.

“Liverpool need more of a maestro in there. Thiago is certainly a better footballer than what they have but by doing that you lose that momentum in terms of pressing and being on the front foot.

“They were exposed today. Liverpool by the midfield not really managing to control Chelsea.”
