EPL: Jurgen Klopp speaks on Liverpool’s title race after 1-0 defeat to Leicester
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has spoken on the Premier League title race after his side’s defeat to Leicester City on Tuesday evening.
The German said he is not worried about the six point gap between Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the table.
He also admitted that Leicester deserved their win on Tuesday night while pointing out while the Reds lost the game.
Mohamed Salah’s penalty was saved and his follow-up header hit the crossbar, while Sadio Mane scuffed a one-on-one over the bar at the start of the second half.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were then punished by Ademola Lookman when he burst into the box and fired past Alisson at his near post.
The result means Liverpool are six points adrift of City at the halfway stage of the season.
Klopp told Amazon Prime Video: “It’s a big gap. But at this moment, the gap to City is not my problem.
“If we play football like this more often, then we don’t have to think about it [the title].
“If we play our football, our normal football, Liverpool football, then we have the chance to win a lot more football games and we will see where we end up. But for the moment, the gap is not my main problem.”
