EPL: Rangnick in shock as he identifies two big issues at Manchester United
Manchester United interim boss, Ralf Rangnick is stunned by how far the club has fallen under his watch.
The manager, according to Daily Mail, feels that two key issues are preventing him from turning things around at Old Trafford.
Rangnick was appointed as an interim manager following the sack of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but has failed to make any change since early December when he took over.
Since their shocking 1-0 defeat to Wolves at Old Trafford, there have been reports of unrest in the Mancheater United dressing room.
Daily Mail says the German has quickly come to realize that the United job and the pressure to produce a change is far bigger than he initially thought.
The newspaper said that sources close to Rangnick claim he is ‘shocked’ at how far the Red Devils have fallen and how badly they have been misfiring.
For this reason, Rangnick now feels it will take a monumental effort to put Manchester United in Champions League position for next season.
The club must do everything they can to win their FA Cup third-round tie against Aston Villa on Monday night to calm things.
The manager is said to have met two big issues which are holding back his efforts to transform the team.
The first is the defense, with the German concerned that his high-pressing style is not suited to the defenders, while another issue that Rangnick and his staff have identified is a lack of physical conditioning.
Manchester players’ fitness levels are said to be below what would normally be expected.
