Gov Abiodun’s new appointees appear before Ogun Assembly
The nominees for appointment into various positions in Governor Dapo Abiodun’s cabinet have appeared before the Ogun State House of Assembly.
The nominees were at the Assembly Complex in Okemosan, Abeokuta on Wednesday for screening.
They had earlier submitted copies of their credentials to the Clerk of the House, after which they took turns to stand before the lawmakers at a session presided over by the Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo.
The commissioner-nominees and members of statutory commissions, whose names were earlier transmitted to the legislative arm were charged to render more service to the socio-economic development of the state.
Oluomo, while commending their nomination, noted that those nominated are an array of professionals and party men and women, who had been adding values to governance in the state, saying they were expected to do more upon confirmation by the Assembly and swearing-in by the state governor.
Oluomo advised them to justify the confidence reposed in them through the formulation of ideas and people-oriented projects that would benefit the citizenry.
The commissioner-nominees include Taiwo Oludotun, Hon. Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo, Abayomi Hunye, Hamzat Ganiyu and Ola Oresanya.
Those screened for the Statutory Commissions are Hon. Onadeko Onamusi for House of Assembly Service Commission; Mr. Adeleye Joseph Ademola for Teaching Service Commission; Nurudeen Aina and Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji for the Judicial Service Commission.
The Assembly is expected to transmit the verdict of the screening exercise to Gov Abiodun who would go ahead to swear in the approved nominees.
