Jigawa uncovers over 49,000 out-of-school Fulani children
The Jigawa State Government has said so far, 49,712,000 out-of-school Fulani children were discovered across the state.
The Executive Secretary Agency for Nomadic Education, Hajia Ramatu Muhammad, made this knonw while reviewing the activities of the agency in Radio Jigawa Live-Phone in programme monitored by DAILY POST.
She said a census conducted three months ago by the agency indicated that over 49,712,000 out-of-school children were discovered in 366 Fulani communities.
Ramatu said the Jigawa State Government has been working hard to bring education closer to the Fulani communities.
“Modalities have been designed for the establishment of mobile schools and learning by radio programme to reach out to the nomads in hard-to-reach areas.
“State Government has also provided textbooks, uniforms, furniture as well as prompt payment of salaries to teachers to ensure improved teaching and learning process in schools”
