Katsina: Police arrest 244 cattle rustlers in 12 months
Katsina State Police Command says it arrested a total of 244 cattle rustlers in Katsina State in the year 2021.
The spokesman of the Command, SP Isah Gambo, disclosed this during the end of the year press conference held at the state headquarters.
However, he said only two hundred and thirty (230) of them were charged to court as the remaining 14 suspects are still under investigation.
Sanusi Buba, the state’s Commissioner of Police recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General AIG while admitting that the year was quite a challenging one for the command, said “the Command; nevertheless recorded tremendous successes against the menace of banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery and other forms of crime and criminality in the state which saw a reduction in crime rate in the state as compared with the previous year.”
AIG Buba used the opportunity to thank the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Usman Baba for “his undaunted support to the Command, without which these quanta of successes would not have been achieved.”
In the same vein, AIG Buba commended the effort of the State Government under the leadership of Governor Aminu Bello Masari, the Executive for his unflinching support to the security agencies.
