Kinsmen of APC Women leader, Betta Edu troop to party over her appointment
Teeming supporters of APC national women’s leader in Adadama community of Abi LGA, Cross River State have registered en-masse in APC following her homecoming since appointment.
The crowd came out to join the APC yesterday when Dr Betta Edu returned home from national APC assignments.
The homecoming was a huge celebration where representatives of the APC national chairman, the state deputy governor, Prof Ivara Esu, and the state chairman of the party, Alphonsus Ogar handled proceedings.
No fewer than 5,000 youths alongside elderly men and women of the community decided to appreciate their daughter and support her by joining the APC.
They all registered in the local ward even as they hailed her show of love and contributions to their community.
Party dignitaries present formally received them at the local town hall.
Edu assured the defectors of equal rights and privileges in the party. “We’re a progressive party and as such, we treat everyone equally.
“For taking this decision to join me in APC, let me reassure you my people that my empowerment programmes of free medical outreaches, renovation and upgrading of health facilities, payment of school fees for our children, etc will continue. To add to that, the registration fee for all our students eligible for WAEC has been paid and this and many more I’ll continue to do.
“PDP is history as I urge you to go get our PVCs and get ready to vote APC from top to bottom. Very soon campaigns will start and I trust in my people to deliver as we have done it before and we’ll do it again.” She added.
Speaking, the traditional head of the Adadama community, HRH Eval Nelson Agbomi commended Edu and encouraged her to do more for her people, assuring that they will always support and pray for her success.
“She is my daughter, our daughter. Our prayers and support are assured. She has done well both at her job and for her community. We cannot abandon her.”
