Reps to investigate alleged killing of Amotekun Commandant, 3 others by Customs men
The House of Representatives has mandated its Committee on Customs to investigate the alleged killing of four persons by men of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
The decision to investigate the killings is sequel to a motion moved by Ajibola Muraina on Wednesday.
In his motion, Muraina said on the 16th of July, men of the NCS attacked Igangan, Igboora, Ayete, Tapa and other communities in Ibarapa area of Oyo State.
The lawmaker said the men drove in “two Toyota Hilux vans and one Toyota Sienna bus, and without any provocation from the residents shot sporadically in built-up areas, killed Muritala Ajasa, the Amotekun Commandant in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area, at Igbo-Ora, killed two passers-by at Igangan and one person at Ayete, leaving several residents with life-threatening gunshot injuries.”
Consequently, the House resolved that the committee should investigate the matter to ensure that victims are adequately compensated.
