Seven persons abducted by gunmen from Kwara community rescued

The Kwara State Police Command has rescued seven abducted persons who fell victims to unknown gunmen during an attack on a sachet water factory in Sosoki Village, near Alapa, Asa local government area of Kwara State at the weekend.

Hadi Balogun, manager of the factory who reported the incident to the police had said, seven armed men speaking different Nigerian languages stormed Lafrcdeen Pure Water Factory in the village in the evening, kidnapped eight workers of the factory including the owner, one Fatima Nurudeen and disappeared into the bush.”

Sequel to the report, the Police said the Commissioner, Tuesday Assayomo dispatched a tactical team alongside local hunters and vigilantes to the area to rescue the victims and arrest the hoodlums.

“The efforts resulted in the rescue of seven out of the eight abducted workers,” the spokesman of the state police command, Mr Okasanmi Ajayi confirmed in Ilorin, on Sunday.

He said the command is getting close to rescuing the remaining victim who is reportedly the owner of the factory and possible arrest of the kidnappers.

The Command advised the people of the state to always be conscious of who they share vital information about their movements with and be security conscious at all times, especially at this period of the year.

It assured the people of their safety before, during and after the Yuletide.

DAILY POST reports that this is the second kidnap case reported in Kwara on Saturday alone.

The other incident which is yet to be resolved involved one Olujala Adegboja at Olla town in Isin Local Government Area of the state around 7pm.
