Transfer: What Depay told Barcelona teammates about leaving Camp Nou for EPL club
Barcelona forward, Memphis Depay, has told his teammates he has no plans to leave Camp Nou this summer amid interests from Premier League clubs.
According to Sport, Depay informed his Barcelona teammates that ‘even if six forwards come, I will continue.’
This means that the Dutch star has now ruled out an exit from Barcelona this summer, despite the arrivals of Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski this summer.
Depay was Barcelona’s standout signing last summer and enjoyed a fruitful first season.
The former Manchester United star even finished as Barca’s joint-top scorer with 13 goals last season.
However, after the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January and Barca’s investment over the summer in attackers Lewandowski and Raphina, it would appear there may be no room for Depay in Xavi’s team.
Depay has been linked with a move away from Barcelona this summer.
The 28-year-old has attracted interest from Premier League clubs, including Man United and Tottenham.
