Yultide: Delta Govt assure citizens of adequate security

Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa-led Delta State Government has assured citizens of adequate security before, during and after the Christmas and New year celebration.

The Delta State Director General of Security, Hon. David Tonwe gave the assurance during a chat with newsmen in Asaba.

He said the collaboration between Operation Delta Hawk and other security agencies, especially the Police, Army, Directorate of Security Services, the Navy, Airforce, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, as well as the Road Safety Corps have made the State unhealthy for miscreants to operate.

Tonwe thanked Governor Okowa for the maximum assistance to the Operation Delta Hawk in the last one year since its establishment.

He said the timely information from stakeholders had led to the arrest and prosecution of hoodlums.

He also solicited the usual cooperation of Deltans in keeping the State safe for all.

Tonwe said his men were already at alert to ensure that no traveller or commuter in any part of Delta was robbed or kidnapped by miscreants along the Abavo/Umutu/Eku road, as well as other flashpoints where robbers laid siege in odd hours.

He noted that before Christmas, Sapele and entire Okpe area, as well as Oghara, Mosogar and Jesse axis will be covered by Operation Delta Hawk in terms of security.

According to him, no effort will be spared in adequate policing of Ughelli, Udu, Effurun, Uvwie and their environs.

He warned those aiding and abetting criminal activities to desist or be ready to contend with the law.

Tonwe said plans have been concluded by different security agencies in the State to ensure free flow of traffic at the Asaba Bridge head and other areas in the State where high vehicular activities is high during festive period.
